Teen XL
Extreme Leadership

The XL (Extreme Leadership) program is a group-based experiential learning process for campers entering grades 10 – 11. This is for campers who are seeking increased leadership opportunities and who want to begin looking into becoming a future camp counselor.

XL is an intensive program designed to allow campers to be introduced to what it takes to be a great leader and a member of a high functioning team. The major focus of XL is the development of group dynamics through experiences created to push each camper's individual and collaborative limits.

It is a goal of the program to offer skills learned through trial and error that can be taken back into each camper's daily life and applied in real life situations. This is accomplished through a variety of specialized teambuilding, service and leadership activities in which the campers take the lead in the completion of tasks and projects. Teens in this program will learn how to enhance their leadership and communication styles as well as learn how to be an active member of a team.

This program will include a three-day, counselor led backpacking trip through stunning Pacific Northwest terrain. Campers will have the ability to put their leadership skills to the test while receiving an introduction to topographic map reading, orienteering, outdoor living and Leave No Trace camping.

Teen XL Camp Fees
Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, YMCA Camp Collins uses a three-tier rate structure for our summer camp programs. Please take a moment to look at the rate descriptions below and choose the rate level that is most suitable for your family.

Rate One
Based on the actual cost of camp for one child to participate. Includes expenses for staff, maintenance, food and supplies.

Example
$980.00   $930.00   $880.00

Rate Two
Our partially subsidized fee for those families who can pay a little more, but still can't afford the actual cost of camp.

Example
$980.00   $930.00   $880.00

Rate Three
Our standard subsidized fee. This rate does not reflect the true cost of operating sumer camp programs.

Example
$980.00   $930.00   $880.00

This program is voluntary and in no way influences the experience children receive, yet it offers the opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the true cost of their child's camp experience.
